Christian Approach
What makes our school special? Some would say it would be its academics. Others would include its teachers and students. At St. Matthew Christian Academy, we certainly consider these very important factors, but we also look to extend the students' learning opportunities through the creation of a safe Christian learning environment. This environment is nurtured by our team of Christian teachers and staff who are motivated by Christian principles in their preparation, instruction, behavior, example and discipline. Together, they strive to help students meet the following goals:

Nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ
 Know God’s Word
Articulate the Law-Gospel distinction with words and deeds
Know and practice Christian ethics by showing kindness
    and consideration for others
 Make decisions and accept responsibility
Exercise control and balance, emotionally, spiritually, physically,
    academically, socially
 Know and appreciate diverse cultures
Practice respect, etiquette, and appropriate communication

Parent-Teacher Partnership
Parents and the church must work together to achieve the goals that God has set forth for the children. Cooperation between the two is needed to prepare the children spiritually and to teach them to carry their responsibilities in the home, to become effective workers in their occupations, and to be Christ's witnesses to their community and to the rest of the world. St. Matthew Christian Academy has an excellent parent-teacher relationship with regular classroom communication letters going home to parents along with four midterms and four report cards to chart academic and social progress. Teachers are easily accessible to parents, and parents are always welcome
to visit and provide assistance to the school and its program. PTCL, the parent-teacher organization, is another strong avenue for parental involvement at the school.
